For Stacy and Andy
Swimming, once freely, in a shrinking abyss,
Acutely aware of a world—vibrant, veiled;
Many months awaiting first embrace and first kiss,
And when all life’s moments, save one, will be paled.
Not one of you grasping the breadth of your love,
Till meeting, at last, when cradled near heart;
Held ever-so softly, as one would a dove,
Aglow brightly with pride for your work of art.
